Rolling Stone Rakes in High School Press Awards | MPH News Digest

The Rolling Stone continues to gather awards!  After recently winning a first place award in the American Scholastic Press Association’s 2011 nationwide student newspaper contest, Manlius Pebble Hill’s student newspaper captured a slew of awards at Monday’s High School Press Day.

The areawide event was sponsored by The Post-Standard and held at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications.  Post-Standard journalists served as judges for the competition. Melissa Chessher , advisor to The Rolling Stone staff, says the awards were based solely on the content and professionalism of the publications — neither the size of the school and staff nor the number of advisors was considered in determining awards.
