A yellow urn and a mannequin sporting flowers where its stomach should be stand on either side of the entrance to Dianna Amidon's summer bedroom in her backyard in Fayetteville.
The metal bed spray-painted yellow is a great place to take a nap or curl up with a good book, Amidon said.
It's hard to picture Amidon staying still long enough to read or sleep as she zips around her sprawling yard in a golf cart, giving a tour of the bedroom, the firepit area, several seating areas and an area under construction.
Amidon lives in what has become known in the neighborhood as the "Cupcake House," because in her front yard sit five, 18-inch tall, hollow plastic cupcakes. They were part of a display for a dessert wine that was disassembled by Syracuse Haulers Waste Removal Inc., where Amidon works.
