A compromise win-win-win for the debate is feasible leaf blower. As a landscape designer for a long time (we do not use a leaf blower), I saw the advantages and disadvantages of leaf blower use. The blower is the most effective tool to use after the grass cutting for clearing walks, drives and patios clippings and other debris. Abuse occurs when the fan is also used for lawns and gardens clear.
Lawns become more impenetrable to precipitation than they might otherwise be due to the frequent use of leaf blowers to clear off grass clippings after each mowing. If the clippings are left in the lawn, they will decay and eventually become a component of topsoil. This buildup of detritus is nature's way of keeping the soil surface loose and porous. When this organic material is constantly blown off, the soil surface becomes almost rock-hard.
